This digital collage was made for the theme 'The Opera'.
I have seen some opera performances, but I made my collage from 'The Phantom of the Opera' which is a musical, not an opera. The difference between a musical and an opera is only that in a musical the singing is interspersed with passages of dialogue, while in an opera the singing never stops.

The Phantom of the Opera musical is based on the Gothic fiction (1910). Also a popular movie has been made from the same fiction, and its premier was 2004.

Tein sen teemaan 'Ooppera', vaikka Oopperan kummitus on musikaali. Oopperan ja musikaalin ero on se, että musikaalissa laulu sijoitetaan dialogien joukkoon, oopperassa taas laulua ei katkaista puheella.
'Oopperan kummitus' musikaali perustuu fiktiiviseen romaaniin vuodelta 1910. Siitä on tehty myös suosittu elokuva, jonka ensi-ilta oli 2004.
