Black Swan/Musta joutsen

 

''Black Swan'

My digital fantasy art that is based on the fantastic world of ballet, and its memorable star ballerina Dame Margot Fonteyn(1919-1991).

She was an iconic and much loved figure, particularly after she was professionally paired with Russian dancer Rudolf Nurejev (1938-1993).

I love ballet especially the 'Swan Lake' that is the ballet composed by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

It is one of the most popular ballets of all time.

Back to my creation: I composed it digitally for the 'Birds' theme. 

I used Margot's lovely face as the face of my fantasy swan, that is the mix of a white and black swan, that I painted with digital painting brushes. I layered its background in Photoshop with the image and overlay material from my archive, and typed the Marilyn Monroe's quote: 

'Trying to be someone else is a waste of the personal you are.'

Digitekniikalla fotosopissa tekemäni fantasia, joka perustuu baletin ihmeelliseen maailmaan ja sen ikimuistoisille tähdille Margot Fonteyn ja Rudolf Nurejev.

Heidän esiintymisensä yhdessä Tsaikovskin maailmankuulussa 'Joutsenlampi' baletissa oli aikanaan sensaatio ja siivitti heidät koko balettimaailman huipulle.

Käytin työssäni joutsenelle Margot Fonteyn kasvokuvaa, joka on fantasiani musta/valkoisesta joutsenesta, ja kirjoitin Marilyn Monroen mietteen:

'Yritys esittää muuta kuin olet, on hukkaan mennyttä personaasi'.

The Owl Inspiration/Pöllöinspiraatio

My digital art journal page for the 'Birds' theme

hosted by Mia at Art Journal Journey Challenge this month.

Because Owls are nocturnal i.e. Night Birds, I designed my work with the grunge style in Photoshop. The image and overlay material was chosen from my archive, and the layout and effects  made with my photoshop tools. I finished the page with the texts, that are telling what's happening in the nightly forest. Owls are known as wise birds, but here the baby owls are confessing that they don't know much yet.

Digitekniikalla fotosopissa tekemäni art journal-työ 'Linnut'-teemaan.

Koska pöllöt ovat yöllä aktiivisia lintuja, suunnittelin taustan "rosoisella" tyylillä korostamaan yöllisiä tapahtumia metsässä, josta tekstejä: 'tummat, harmaat silmät, jotka loistivat', ja poikaset pesässä: 'emme tiedä paljoa...' 

Pöllöthän tunnetaan viisaina lintuina, mutta aika vasta opettaa lisää...

Beltane Festival of Summer/Kesän juhla

 'Beltane' is among others the Gaelic festival celebrating of light, life, and nature's blossom.

Keltinkielinen 'beltane'-juhla vastaa lähinnä Suomen vappua eli kesän alkamista; se on mm. valon ja luonnon kukkaan puhkeamisen juhlaa. Kortissani keijujen maailma on myös yhtynyt juhlimaan 'kuningattarensa' kanssa.

Suunnittelin ja toteutin kortin fotosopissa materiaalista, jonka valitsin kuva-arkistostani.

Memories of Paris/Pariisin muistoja

 

For the "What reminds you of Paris"-theme at Digital Whisper.

Mine are the couple of the postcards that I bought in memory of Paris many years ago. The card on the left up is designed by Rodolphe Rousseau, and presents La place Furstenberg, which is a small, and romantic square, know as a quiet, picturesque place famous for its central lamppost with the paulownia trees.

The card right down is designed by Serge De Filippi presenting Vert-Galant public garden. It has been built in honour of King Henri IV, nicknamed the 'Vert-Galant' because his liking for women😊

I created the background for the cards in Photoshop. It's said Paris has the special light with the pink color - I tried to give it onto my digital art. The other images are chosen from my archive.

Face; imperfection is beauty/Kasvot

 

 My hybrid postcard creation for the theme 'Face' at Sunday Postcard Art.

I've made the background of the card earlier by hand on the painted corrugated board with pieces of laces. 

Now I digitally added my akryl hand painted face, which you see beneath, on it. I finished the card with some digital elements, and the text:

 'Wonder, imperfection is beauty.'

Ylinnä hybridi-postikorttini 'Kasvot'-teemaan'. 

Muunsin käsin aiemmin akryyleillä maalaamani kasvot irrottamalla ne taustasta  ja tekemällä kasvoja käyttäen uuden kortin. 

Siihen olen tehnyt käsin aaltopahville tekemääni taustaa, jossa on kultamaalia ja pitsiä. Uuteen työhöni lisäsin digitaalisesti muutaman layerin ja tekstin 'Epätäydellisyys on kauneutta'.

Mouse family/Hiiriperhe

I designed and layered my digital collage page in Photoshop using the material that I chose from my image archive. 

The whole mouse family is enjoying the delicious meal in the kitchen table. However there is danger, because the cat has noticed what's going on...
