A Girl and Parrot/Tyttö ja papukaija

 'Life is better with a colorful parrot by your side!'

For the Art Journal Journal Challenge 'Aimeslee's theme 'Anything goes'. 

 I made my hybrid work with two hand made elements: my hand painted 'girl and parrot' acryl painting and hand made background, which I've composed with many different pens and materials. I digitally set them two together and typed the quote on the guide cloak image found from my files.

Hybridi työni, jonka työstin kahdesta käsin tekemästäni työstä: Akryylimaalaus 'Tyttö ja Papukaija' ja käsin tekemäni tausta. Yhdistin ne digitalisesti, ja lopuksi lisäsin taustalle opasviitan ja kirjoitin sille mietelauseen sekä kehystin työn. Linkitän sen teemoihin:' Kaikki käy' ja 'Kasvot'.

 Above Above being picture is my hybrid page. The girl is my hand painted girl portrait that I cropped from its BG, and set onto my digitally made background. I chose just this face, because her eyes match well the color of the hat 🤩

The background was made with several textured overlays, and I've  effected them with digital filters. Other images the rose and lantern, and the text overlay were added from my files.

Motivoitunut turkoosin väreissä: 'Jos osaat uneksia siitä, osaat sen tehdä.' Kuva on hybridi, jossa on käsin akryyleillä maalaamani kasvokuva, jonka muuntelin hattuun sopivaksi. Wonders of wings 🦋 Siipien ihmettä

My hybrid interpretation for the 'Things with Wings' at Try it on Tuesday', and on the 'Face' theme at Nicole's DV Artist Friday Face Off.

You can see there on my framed layout four butterflies and a fairy with wings. The girl is my hand painting, and it and all other images were added digitally on the background.

Sewing with ATCs/Ompelua ATC-korteilla

I explain you, why I use Coco Chanel's quote for this hybrid art journal page, which is going to the 'Sewing-theme' at Art Journal Journey Challenge:

Coco Chanel was a world famous French clothing designer and businesswoman (1883-1971). She was from a poor family, and learned to sew during her six years and later found employment as a seamstress.

The Chanel couture became a lucrative business enterprise, employing 4 000 people by 1935. She is the only fashion designer listed on Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century.

I created my above page using my old handmade ATCs on it. I made the background with four, which I chose from my files. I didn't altere them any way, and added the images on to the background and made the text tag.

Tämän hybridi/art journal-sivun tein 'Ompelu'-teemaan ja käytin kuvituksena valitsemaani neljää vanhaa käsin tekemääni ATC-korttia, joita en muuntanut millään tavalla. Jos ihmettelet, miksi käytän Coco Chanelin aforismia ompelu-teemaan, selitykseni on se, että hänestä, tuli maailmankuulu vaatesuunnittelija ja business-nainen. Hän oli lähtöisin hyvin köyhistä oloista ja oppinut ompelemaan kuuden vuoden iässä, ja toimi myöhemmin aluksi ompelijan työssä. Chanel-huippumuoti ylsi menestyväksi yritykseksi, joka työllisti 4 000 ihmistä vuoteen 1935 mennessä. Hän on ainoa muotisuunnittelija, jonka Time-lehti on listannut 100n vaikutusvaltaisimman ihmisen joukkoon 20.vuosisadalla.

Tein taustan digitaalisesti lisäämällä sille ompelu-aiheisisia kuvia ja kirjoitin mietelauseen.

The Mode patterns/Muotia

'The mode patterns from the past'

The fact is that the mode is repeated regularly with some alterations from the past to the modern era.

This digital/hybrid collage was made on the Halle's theme 'I've got a notion' at 

Art Journal Journey Challenge this month.

I've hand drawn the frame with a black pen and alcohol ink. I combined my layout with the old picture savings and stampings in my photoshop program.

'Muotia menneisyydestä nykyaikaan'

On totta, että muoti toistaa itseään pienin muutoksin kaukaakin historiasta. Tämän hybridi-kollaasin koostin fotoshopissani vanhoista  säilyttämistäni kuvista. Kehyksen olen jo aiemmin tehnyt mustalla kynällä ja alkoholimusteilla. Kiva, kun poikkesit. Hyvää alkavaa viikkoa kaikille 💗

We can and we do/Osaamme ja teemme

This hybrid art journal pages was made with both my hand and digital made material. I hand made the background with textile pieces, which I cut from the old spent African embroidered sofa cushion cove. The net and white pen marks were added on the bottom before that. The beautiful African woman image is a digitally added magazine cutting that I digitally filtered a bit.

I finished the work typing the text:

 "We can and we do",

that realize in Afrika; women really work hard and can make great handcraft.

Tämän hybridi/art journal-työn taustan olen tehnyt käsin. Lisäsin sille kierrätysverkkoa ja valkokynällä tekemiäni pilkkuja sekä vanhasta afrikkalaisesta loppuun käytetystä sohvatyynyn päällisestäni leikkaamiani alun perin käsin kirjailtuja tekstiilipalasia. Lisäsin kauniin afrikkalaisnaisen leikekuvan, jota parantelin hieman digitaalisesti ja kirjoitin tekstin:

'Me osaamme ja me teemme',

mikä pätee raskasta työtä ja taitavia käsitöitä tekeviin naisiin Afrikassa.

Pahvia pahville/Cardboard on cardboard

Afrikka/Leijona-aiheinen vanha käsin tekemäni "skräppityö" kenkälaatikon kannelle. Hiekkaa/struktuuripastaa ja akryylimaalia. Siinä näyttää olevan sadekauden jälkeistä vehreyttä.

Tein kannelle nyt taustan digitalisesti kuvittamalleni pahvitaustalle.

My Africa/Lion themed hand made scrap work on a shoe box cover. My illustration seems to present scenery after a long rains season. 

And my hybrid collage for the 'Card boar' theme was digitally combined on a cardboard background with grunge style images.

Tällainen hempeily tällä kertaa. Olen tehnyt tagin jo v. 2014, ja koostin sille nyt digitalisesti kollaasitaustan.

Tuo pitsikolmio on nenäliinasta leikkaamani. Olin saanut nenäliinat lahjaksi jo vuosia aiemmin anopiltani ja mietin kauan raskinko leikata yhdestä. Elettiin aikaa, milloin vielä käytettiin - oli ainakin myynnissä kankaisia nenäliinoja 😃

With this digital collage page I present my on the corrugated cardboard made tag from the year 2014.

Now I made for it digitally the background, and I am linking it on the theme  'Cardboard' at the Teemakuun Kollaasit 5/2024.

Our summer started here in Finland now, and weather is sunny and warm.

Some temperature records have even made on some areas 🌞

My hybrid piece made with the portrait , which I've painted using acrylics.

Now I made digitally the background for the page with overlays, which include geometric forms and shapes as circles and the rectangle. I wrote on it 'This is my happy place', and framed the whole work with the square form mat frame.

 I combined the collage in the center of page with parts of my old handmade ATCs and Skinny-cards. Then I made for it the art journal background, added the images from my files and typed the quote.

 My hybrid art journal page for the Elle's 'Cats, books and tea' theme at Art Journal Journey this month.

I cropped my hand painted 'Girl and Cat' from its original wet colored pencil painting below, and made the new background for it with old images from my files.

Now they are enjoying their favorite place siting in the sofa with a cup of tea. Of course the kitten has got her milk before hand 🐱

'Kesäsade'

 Kesäsade kuuluu myös kesäämme, ja sen voi ottaa näin rennosti kuin tyttö tekee kortissa. Hybridikollaasini rakentuu vanhoista käsintehdyistä ATC-korteista ja alhaalla vasemmalla on osa vesiväripiirroksestani, joilla digitekniikalla olen koostanut kollaasin. Linkitän työn 'Kesä 23'-teemaan, ja toivotan kaikille ihania kesäpäiviä. Onneksi meillä ei ole liian kuuma - ainakaan vielä - emmekä myöskään joudu kärsimään suurista tulvista niin kuin eri puolilla maailmaa nyt tapahtuu.

'Summer rain' is my hybrid collage, which I made digitally using a part of my hand painted work down on the left corner, and with parts from the hand made ATC:s.

Summer rain is often waited for after long lasting hot weather, and sometimes you can take rain as happily as the girl in the fun picture of the collage. 

I know that in many parts of the world it's too hot - even records of temperature are measured - and some other parts are suffering of big floods.

So, be safe and take care where you are living or visiting 😘
