A loyal friend

I made this Art journal page using my hand with acrylics painted art work beneath. I've  painted it in the art deco style, which was popular in the 1920's. She looks being in the beach and reading a book. Books are one of my favorite things.
I made her digitally a new background and added the Ernest Hemingway's text:
"There is no friend as loyal as a book."
The original painting.
I'm linking my page at the  Art Journal Journey Challenge theme 'Favorite things', which is chosen by Erika/BioArtGal this month.
Thank you for visiting and the comment you kindly leave.

  3. She does look like she is at the beach AND she has the right idea - books do make wonderful friends. Lovely papers/quotes you added too. They go with the 1920s Art Deco vibes. Love the girl. So well done.

  7. My sincere apologies for taking so long to visit. Once again life got in the way of computer time. I'm so far behind, I may never catch up, but I'm trying.

I feel like I just transported back to this date in 1920. Love that look. I was in awe of both your lady and her great Hemingway quote. This is beautiful. I can lmost feel the warm salt air and waves gently lapping against the shore. Thank you for sharing her with us at Art Journal Journey using Erika's theme.

  8. I have lots of book best friends. I am with you about the theme of this page for sure. I love how your lady is dressed for warm weather and seems to be enjoying her book outside also. I like the art deco style too. It is a fun look. Thanks so much for joining in at Art Journal JOurney. It is much appreciated! Happy new week. Hugs-Erika
