Frosty Lace

"Deep roots are not reached by the frost."  -J.R.R. Tolkien

I created this digital Art Journal page for the Art Journal Journey Challenge theme
'A Single Flower' that Sheila from Orange Esmeralda has chosen for us this month.
I combined my digital layout with freebies and Mischief Circus-images, and made the texture filtering, effects and coloring with Photoshop elements.
Thank you for looking,
and wishing everyone healthy and happy March.
💜💜💜
'Huurteinen pitsi' on art journal sivuni teemaan 'Yksi kukka'.
"Routa ei tavoita syviä juuria."  -J.R.R. Tolkien
Koostin digitaalisesti sivuni käyttäen ilmais- ja MC-kuvia, layoutin, tehosteet ja väri- ja tekstuuri-filtteroinnin tein fotoshop-työkaluin.
Kiitos käynnistäsi.
Toivotan, hyvää ja turvallista maaliskuuta kaikille.

  1. This is perfect for AJJ and Sheila's new challenge Sirkkis. I also love your take on a single flower. It is very clever. I would never have though of frost, but love how it works. Thanks for joining us. And Happy March. Will winter wrap up for you this month or does it continue longer in your part of Finland? Hugs-Erika

  2. This is pretty amazing, Sirkkis. The frosty background is fabulous and the flower is protected in its glass dome The cherub is the perfect addition too. I don't know how you think of all the digital and other paintings you make, you seem to be able to create something for so many different themes and with so many different styles.
The words are just right too.
Thanks so much for this tremendous entry of a Single Flower.

  3. I was either sick or in the hospital so much in Feb., I missed out on much of your art. I am determined not to let that happen this month.

I absolutely LOVE that quote by Tolkien. Most people quote the first part over the last, but I adore what you have created and how you have saved the rose from the frost. This is truly a beauty and the lacy background adds to the charm. Thanks so much for this first of hopefully many journal pages at Art Journal Journey this month using Sheila's theme.

I've also enjoyed a catch up seeing your art, sorry I don't get to stop by as much as I would like to just now.

  7. Now those words under your beautiful art are soooo true and so inspiring - deep roots are not reached by the frost. They really go with your lovely page. I love the frosty feel an then the warmth of the flower under the protective glass. VERY interesting and thought-provoking!

  8. I love how you have portrayed the frost in your page. What a beautiful picture it makes on its own - but the addition of the single flower in the cloche adds to the beauty of this page. Love it.
