3Muses - Song lyrics, Poems/Laulun sanat, runot

This week's theme at The Three Muses Challenge is

'Song Lyrics or a Poem'
which is your favorit

One of  mine is Emily Dickinson's
(1830-1886) poem:

Hope

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops - at all

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm

I've heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest Sea
Yet, never, in Extremity,
it asked a crumb - of Me.
                                                                           - Emily Dickinson, Collected Poems, Part One: Life

My Sara loves this poem, too.
Thanks for visiting. I always appreciate your comments.

*****
Tällä viikolla teemana on suosikki laulun sanat tai runo.
Yksi mielirunoistani on Emily Dickinson'in
(1830-1886) runo:

Toivo

"Toivo on höyhenpeitteinen
Joka asettuu sieluun
Ja laulaa sävelen ilman sanoja
Eikä koskaan lopeta - ollenkaan..."

En löytänyt suomen kielistä käännöstä, ja koska en ole runojen kääntäjä, en lähde suomentamaan muita säkeitä.

Sara-tyttöni pitää myös tästä runosta.
Kiitos vierailusta. Kommentit ovat myös aina tervetulleita.

  23. Kaunis kokonaisuus! Tulee mieleen ajatus, jonka olen kuullut, että jos heität tuuleen toiveesi, se toteutuu.
    Siinäkin toive saa siivet.
