Paradise Lost

Paradise Lost  is an epic poem by the 17th-century English poet John Milton (1608-1674). The poem concerns the biblical story of the fallen Man: the temptation of Adam and Eve by the fallen angel Satan and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden.

The above text explain my interpretation in my illustration. I had the overlay of the poem, which you see on my layout, for long time. Sure I know the story of Adam and Eve, but didn't know the poem, so I clarified its subject, and made the fantasy digital layout, which refers to the content of the poem: The evil who was tempting Adam and Eve with an apple, was the fallen angel.

Kadotettu paratiisi  on eeppinen runoelma, jonka kirjoitti englantilainen runoilija John Milton (1608-1674). Runoelma käsittelee Raamatun kertomusta ihmisen syntiin lankeamisesta: Saatanasta (langennut enkeli) lähtöisin olevaa Aatamin ja Eevan kiusausta ja heidän karkotustaan Eedenin puutarhasta.

Minulla on ollut jo kauan 'Paradise Lost'-tekstikuva, mutta en ole tiennyt runon sisällöstä - toki olen tuntenut raamatunkertomuksen. Niinpä otin selvää runosta, jossa pahan alku ja juuri on langennut enkeli. Näin syntyi tulkintani siitä kuvina. Linkitän työni teemaan 'Kuljetus'.

Another portrait painting following the Master

This is my digitally painted portrait with the style of the French painter Henri Matisse. He is one of the most important painter of the 20th century. His painting movements: Fauvism, Modernism, Post Impressionism. 

I painted the portrait on the desktop screen with a mouse by hand using digital painting brushes. First I sketched it on the screen. I chose the color pallet near the original, that you see below.

The painting job wasn't an easy task, so I didn't want to mash it up, but you see my simple version of the theme below.

Haasteteemana on muunnella jonkun mestarin maalaus. Minä innostuin maalaamaan Henri Matisse'n maalaamasta vaimonsa muotokuvasta jäljennöksen. Matisse oli ranskalainen 1920-luvun tärkeimpiä taiteilijoita. Maalasin työni käsin hiirellä tietokoneen ruudulla digisiveltimillä. Se ei olekaan helppoa, kun on maalattava jokainen piirto ja käsi ei saa liiemmin vavista. Luonnostelin ensin ääriviivat ruudulle ja aloin maalata alkuperäisen maalauksen lähellä olevilla väreillä ja tyylillä.

 Haastetta varten en halunnut sotkea suuritöistä maalaustani, vaan tein sille hauskemman version eli 'mash it up' (alin maalaus), johon lisäsin kahvikupin tekemääni kuplaan. Poseeraaminenhan on kovaa työtä, ja mallilla on alkanut kahvihammasta kolottamaan😏

The mother and child elephants together are looking so happy in my eye, that they would live in 'Happyland'😊.

I made these alterations of the famous painting Mona Lisa (restored), whom we all know from her mystic smile. I used layer mask techniques. You see beneath the material, which I altered for my  jungle alteration.
