Gone with the Wind

The Golden Age of Movies 1930s and 1940s .
For the theme 'Hollywood' at Three Muses Challenge this week.
'Gone with the Wind' is a 1939 American epic historical romance film adopted from the 1936 novel by Margaret Mitchell. Directed by Victor Fleming.

The Academy Awards (Oscars) are presented at the Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood.
At 12th Academy Awards 'Gone with the Wind' set a record for Academy Award wins and nominations, winning in eight of the competitive categories it was nominated in, from a total of thirteen nominations. It was Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, and Best Editing.
The reason, why I pay this much attention to the film 'Gone with the Wind', is that when being at teenage I saw the movie at the cinema, and I was so impressed by it that next day went to watch it again - although it was an unusual long, over 3 hours movie.
The film has been broadcast several times later on television. Of course it doesn't any more rise same passion in me, but I can still recall flashes of the read, gorgeous dress and the shine of  the green eyes of Scarlett.
                                    Thank you for visiting.
                                              *****
                                     'Tuulen viemää'
on amerikkalainen, historiallinen, romanttinen elokuva vuodelta 1939,
joka perustuu Margaret Mitchell'in v. 1936 ilmestyneeseen romaaniin.
Tein kollaasini haasteteemaan 'Hollywood'.
Muistan kuitenkin edelleen välähdyksiä Scarlett'in punaisesta upeasta puvusta ja hänen vihreiden silmien loisteesta.

Tänään täällä oli vielä oikea kesäpäivä.
Hyvää jatkoa viikkoosi!

  3. Such a beautiful tribute to my own favorite movie! I, too, remember seeing it for the first time and being fascinated with all it depicted. In later years, my husband and I traveled in the south and visited several of the old plantation homes, reminiscent of Tara.
