My third Junk Journal Book

I am hooked to this junk journal book making. I've so much scraps from my ATC and other hand made art time period still, before I started digital working.
On this book's cover page there is my ATC from 2012. I've decorated her hat and dress and given her earrings.
I think she could be a teacher. I used my old tag as a background to the photo. I've   painted it with acrylics and added some thin fabric.
Here you see it with the back cover.

Here is the first spread. On the right page is my ATC from 2012, but I've updated my selfie 'I am me' and added a 'easy and nonchalant' tag 😉
I found from my old scraps my mixed-media background paper. I've used some white/silver paste on it. It was enough for the last spread beneath, too.

You see there up my ATC from 2014 'Tove is celebrating', and the Finnish Post Office issue stamp in celebration of Tove Jansson's 100th Anniversary 2014.  Tove Jansson (1914-27.6.2001 Helsinki, Finland) is one of the best artists of all time and also the most widely read Finnish author abroad. Her lifework is of immeasurable value because of the success she made as a writer, artist and cartoonist. She was a multi-talented artist who is mostly remembered as the creator of the Moomins. The Moomin book have been translated into fifty languages.
I'm thanking her for Moomins in both Finnish and Swedish, because she belongs to our Swedish speaking citizens. We speak here two official languages Finnish and Swedish.
I'm making more pages to this Junk Journal and you'll see them later.
I link this post at Art Journal Journey this month's theme 'What's your style', chosen by Bluebird and Elizabeth  from the Altered Book Lover blog.
Thank you for visiting.

  6. It's great to see this third junk journal. It looks like it will be as fun as the other 2 we've seen lately. I borrowed and read a few Moomins books after we talked about them a few years ago. They are fun, and I'm glad you included it here. It is also fun you included yourself too. I started making some journal pages using scraps too. Thanks for that inspiration, and also for linking up to AJJ for Elizabeth's challenge too. Have a great new week Sirkkis. hugs-Erika

  8. I'm in love all over again, Sirkkis. This is a wonderful junk journal. I was amazed at how you added the hat, dress, and earrings to the lady on the front cover. Simply amazing. I also love that you used lace with corrugated cardboard. Two very, very different textures, yet each complimenting each other.

I love that you have an updated selfie. I have a red rubber stamp of the lady on the left side of that spread.

I had not heard of the Moomins or of Tove Jansson until now. Thanks for introducing me to her and her clever art. I also like that you included postage stamps to your book. I must try to remember to use more of those, too. I also want to thank you for sharing these incredible pages with us at Art Journal Journey using Bleubeard's and my theme.

  10. What a fabulous JJ you have made Sirkkis. I love the page where you have incorporated yourself and I agree with you that the lady on the cover could well be a school teacher. This is a great idea and one where you could use several atc's that you have collected. This has given me an idea for a class at our club. I will credit you when I do it if that is ok with you.
    Hugs, Neet xx
