Portrait my way-PPF

The girl portrait is my acrylic painting which I now present you on the new digitally manipulated background.

The girl was painted onto a crumbled paper bag and now I set it on the background I made digitally with new colors and texture from a watercolor paper below:

 The flower was digitally added to the girl's head, another way I didn't change it.

Esittelen aiemmin akryyleillä maalaamani tytön nyt asemoituna digitaalisesti manipuloidulle taustalle. Tyttö on maalattu rypistetylle paperipussille, nyt lisäsin vain hiuksiin digitaalisesti kukan ja asetin tytön vesiväritaustasta tekemälleni digitaustalle. Sen sain aikaan muuttamalla värejä haluamikseni ja lisäämällä tekstuuria.

I 've handmade the texture and background with homemade modpodge, a nest, a tissuepaper, gesso and acrylics. 

The girl was drawn and coloured with a pencil and oil pastels.

Her background was painted with olil pastes and acrylic paint.

I finished the work with a frame.

Olen tehnyt taustan käsin kotitekoisella modpodgella, verkolla, paperiservetillä, gessolla ja aktyylimaaleilla.

Tytön piirsin lyijykynällä ja väritin öljypastelliliiduilla.

Hänen taustansa väritin öljypastelleilla ja akryylimaalilla.

Viimeistelin työn kehyksellä.

I used as a background my earlier made texture, that was done onto the cover of a shoebox. Now I painted it first with gesso leaving some part of it as it was (the green leaves), and drew the girl with a pencil and painted her and other part of the background with oilpastels and acrylics.

I took a photo from the face and another from the whole painting.

Käytin taustana jo aiemmin kenkälaatikon kanteen tekemääni tekstuuria. Nyt maalasin sen ensin gessolla, mutta jätin vihreät osat niin kuin ne olivat, ja sen jälkeen piirsin tytön lyijykynällä ja maalasin hänet sekä loput taustasta öljypastelleilla ja akryylimaaleilla.

'Rakastan vihreää Maata'
Tein tämän mixed-media taulun käyttäen taustaan servettiä, verkkoa, itsetehtyä 'modpodgea' ja gessoa. 
Tytön olen piirtänyt digitaalisesti.
Viimeistelin työn lisäämällä muut elementit ja tekstin digitaalisesti.

Canvas 'Girl and Bird on Journey'

The idea started from my digital work from the same image (the woman is a magazine cut and the raven was googled). I have never posted this work before.

So for my canvas I used a chocolate-box, which I first covered with self-made Mod Podge and then with gesso. 

I adhered to it a colourful napkin, but I was'nt satisfied. I remembered that I have a piece of my self-made texture from a different napkin. I have made it earlier with pieces of a net and my Mod Podge. I found it and cut some pieces of it. I thought that it could match the background of the Girl image, which I then glued onto the canvas.In the end I added a lace piece which was cut out of an old handkerchief, the text pieces and the cubic embellishment.

Taulun idea alkoi jo aiemmin tekemästäni digityöstä samasta kuvasta. Tyttö on lehtileike ja korpin olen googlannut.

Tauluuni käytin suklaarasiaa, jonka ensin päällystin itse valmistamallani Mod Podgella ja gessolla.

Kiinnitin siihen ensin värikkään lautasliinan, mutta en ollut tyytyväinen siihen. Muistin, että miulla on jäljellä itsetekemääni tekstuuria erilaisesta lautasliinasta. Olen tehnyt sen Mod Podgella ja verkolla. Leikkasin siitä palasia ajatellen niiden sopivan tytön kuvan taustaan ja liimasin kaikki tauluun.

Lopuksi liimasin vanhasta nenäliinasta leikkaamani pitsinpalan sekä kuution muotoisen koristeen. 

Yllä lisäksi pari osaotosta taulustani.

Experiment/Kokeilu

We have here in Southern Finland such a rainy and dark day. All snow has melted and it's like autumn.

So I decided to keep my foot dry and do somethin inside. I sorted my stash and found my unfinished handmade "modge podge" work.

I got an idea to try something new with it. 

I took a piece of it (I've made it from a paper napkin with MP and net). I glued it with molding paste to the watercoloured background. Then I took an old little chiffon scarf and cut different pieces from it. Orange/yellow/green colours are from it. So I got rather nice sea bottom. I scanned the background and added digitally only the fish and the frame. 

I think that also fabric can be used in mixed-media works.

Täällä Etelä-Suomessa on sateinen pimeä päivä. 

Kaikki lumi on sulanut pois ja on kuin syksyllä. 

Niinpä päätin pitää jalkani kuivina ja pysyä sisätiloissa. 

Kävin läpi tarpeistoani ja löysin kesken jääneen käsin tekemäni "modge podge"-työn. (Olen tehnyt sen lautasliinasta MP:n ja verkon avulla.) Liimasin sen muovailumassalla vesiväreillä tekemääni pohjaan. Sitten otin vanhan pienen sifonkihuivin ja leikkelin siitä erilaisia palasia. Oranssi/keltainen/vihreä-värit 

ovat siitä. Näin sain aika kivan merenpohjan. 

Sitten skannasin taustan ja lisäsin siihen digitaalisesti 

vain kalan ja kehyksen.

Mielestäni ohut kangaskin soveltuu mixed-media töihin.

Try it on Tuesday- Hand made/Home Made/Käsin/Kotonatehtyä

is the theme for the next forthnight at Try it on Tuesday Challenge.

First I got a bit panic for the theme because I'm so orientated to make digital art that I've poor suply for crafts.

Then I remembered the recepies for home made pastes and textures which my talented blog friends have given on their blogs.

Canvas

So I made a texture layer for my little canvas according to
Susi's great recepie,

 and  Pamellia's wonderful recepie was easy to follow
 and to make glitter paste.

For the background I used ColorCore Cardstock.

Then I made the texture paste (Mod Podge) with 
water and white glue. 
The BG texture was made with it and
 a golden thin mesh.
The piece of angel illustrated paper napkin was added 
onto the half dried texture layer.
I fnished the work adding home made 
sticky glitter paste with pieces of mesh and glued 
a piece of cheese clothe onto 
the feet of the little angels.

You can see all wonderful D.T.pieces, gift-boxes, presents, wall-hangings... but not cards... made by the talented team members here and you are very welcome to link your own hand made work to the challenge.

Käsin/Kotona tehty on seuraavan kahden viikon ajan 
teemana TioT -haasteblogissamme.

Ensin  vähän panikoin teemasta, koska olen niin orientoitunut digitaalitekniikkaan, että minulla on tosi vähän materiaaleja paperityöskentelyyn. 
Sitten muistin taitavien blogiystävieni blogeissaan antamat itsetehtyjen tekstuuri- ja erilaisten pastojen ohjeet.

Siispä tekemään: Susin mainion ohjeen mukaan tein taustatekstuurin ja Pamellian ihmeen helppojen ohjeiden mukaan jäykän glitteripastan. 
Taustan pikku tauluuni tein ColorCore kartongista.
Textuuriin käytin vedestä ja liimasta tekemääni 'Mod Podgea' ja ohutta kultaverkkoa.

Pinnan hiukan kuivuttua kiinnitin siihen palasen 

enkelikuvioisesta servetistä.

Koristelua varten tein jäykkää glitteripastaa, jolla viimeistelin työn sekä liimasin vielä palasen sideharsoa pikku enkelien jaloille.

Use your stash -Try it on Tuesday

 at Try it on Tuesday Challenge
we are asked to use what's lying around or put in a pile to use later.

I did a canvas work and made it on a recycling material, a box-lid which I made first hard with glues and some other stuff. The background I made from the paper I've coloured and drawn already months ago but haven't use earlier. I've made it with different pencils and inks. The paper is quite thick, so now I didn't tear it but cut it pieces in different sizes and shapes. Then composed as if doing a mosaic work. In the end I clued the printed lion image which I made for another work earlie, a couple of other images from my stash and the stampped letters. I finished the work with rust/golden embossing powder. 

From the part of the canvas I made this "portrait" which I edited and framed from the original canvas in my photoshop.

Haasteessa on pyydetty käyttämään tarvikkeita, jotka ovat jääneet ajelehtimaan työpäydällesi tai on säilytetty myöhempää käyttöä varten.
Tein canvas-työn ja käytin pohjana kierrätysmateriaalia - laatikon kantta pohjustettuani sen ensin kovaksi liimoin ym. ainein.
Käytin taustaan jo kuukausia sitten tekemääni paperia, johon olin värittänyt ja piirrellyt monenlaisilla kynillä ja musteilla erilaisia kuvioita. Paperi on melko paksua, joten en repinyt sitä, vaan leikkasin saksilla erikokoisia ja muotoisia paloja, joista kokosin taustan kuin mosaiikkityössä. Liimasin työhön tulostamani jo aiempaa työtä varten työstämäni leijonan ja pari muuta kuvaa tarpeistostani sekä lisäsin leimoin tehdyn tekstin. Lopuksi viimeistelin työn ruoste/kuta-embossauksella.
Tein vielä osasta työtä tämän "canvas-muotokuvan" ja
editoin ja kehystin sen alkuperäisestä työstä photoshopissani.
