Girl and Iris

There is some spring in the air here, so I post this my hand acryl painting 'Girl and Iris' on the Friday Face Off at Nicole's DV Artist this week.

Iris doesn't bloom in spring time, but I think its color is like blue anemone's and it's blooming in spring.

Junk/Art Journal Book, 'Native Americans'-pages

I created more pages to my Junk Art Journal Book, which l started earlier.

I used my above work and other pictures cut out from my earlier made pages of the 'Native Americans' theme.

 I have teared for backgrounds pieces from ColorCore cardstock and painted them with acrylics. I've doodled the borders with alcohol inks and pens.

I didn't want to cut originals, so pictures on the book pages beneath are copies of them.  Only the most texts are typed in my photoshop program and added on the pages.

The page include smaller pages, and I show it three times, so you see  them when the small pages are turned left. 

 

The Indian picture is a photo.

The face is painted by me. The texts are by Ted Perry, "Chief Seattle's Speech"

'Uusia sivuja Junk/Art Journal Book-kirjaani'

Olen tehnyt kolme sivua, joiden teemana on 'Amerikan alkuperäiskansat'.

Kirjan sivu sisältää pienemmän neljä sivua sisältävän työn, ja siksi näytän pääsivun kolme kertaa, jotta näet vasemmalle käännetyt pienet sivut.

Olen tehnyt kirjan sivut käyttämällä aiemmin tekemästäni työstä otettuja kuvia kuten vesivärimaalaukseni intiaanista ja biisoni-maalaus. Reunukset olen tehnyt käsin alkoholimusteilla ja kynillä. En halunnut leikellä alkuperäisiä töitäni ja siksi käytin kopioita. Vain  tekstit kirjoitin fotosopissa ja liitin ne töihin.

Linkitän sivut teemaan 'Mikä on tyylisi?'.

Olen itseoppinut sekatyylini ja teen taidettani useilla eri tekniikoilla käsintehdyistä digitaalisiin, ja tekniikkoja on sekatekniikasta maalauksiin. Minulla ei ole ketään erityistä taiteilijaa esikuvanani, vaan tyyli on omani.

Bluebird in a heart

My mixed-media/Art Journal page for the challenge theme 'Hearts' at Art Journal Journey. Elizabeth from Altered Book Lover blog has chosen the theme this month.

I painted the girl and the bluebird with acrylics onto the background in which I used some acrylics, gesso and stamping. I finished the page making digitally the heart with the text, put the flowers onto the girl's head and framed the work.

'Lintu sininen (sinikka) sydämessä'
Tämän mixed-media/art journal-sivun tein maalaamalla ensin tytön ja linnun akryyleillä tustalle, jolle olin lisännyt akryylejä, gessoa ja leimauksia. Viimeistelin sivun lisäämällä digitaalisesti tekemäni sydämen teksteineen, kukkakoristeen tytön päähän ja kehystyksen.

A girl's and her owl-friend's thoughts

I painted the girl and owl with acrylics on to the background which I first made on the 15x15 cm paper. The heart-layer, texts and the frame were digitally added.

Something new from me

I made this mixed-media page using my 'Girl and parrot' acrylic painting. It's very first time I painted a parrot. Now I follow the easiest way out of the challenge theme 'Something New'
 at Art Journal Journey Challenge chosen by Jo , and take part on it.

I made the mixed-media page's background using digital layers and some coloring, cropped the girl and parrot from the original background and added digitally on the new background.

Longing for Summer

I show you now my original girl painting, which I last week showed as digitally over painted, because my scanner changed its colors so badly. I took now a photo from it, and it looks like this now - just like the original. I didn't make any correction on it, only added the frame. If you like to compare with the previous digital painting, the page link is here. 

I painted the face with acrylics using a 'dry painting' technique, which means that you are blending various colors with a half dry small brush. I am self learned painter and some months ago I first time looked at a video by Petra's-Art, and have tried to learn it. I think it's difficult to manage it and it takes much time to get ready, but I like the smooth result - so if you succeed to paint it well. 

 I made portrait's background with inks, stencils and stamps.

Näytän nyt alkuperäisen käsin maalaamani työn. Viime viikolla maalasin päälle digitaalisesti, koska skanneri muutti sen värejä pahasti. Otin nyt  kamerakuvan siitä ja värit pysyivät alkuperäisinä. En korjaillut mitään, vaan lisäsin vain kehyksen.

Olen maalannut sen akryyleillä nk.'kuivatekniikalla'. Olen täysin itseoppinut taiteilussani ja ensi kertaa katselin jokin aika sitten Petra's Art-opetusvideota ja päätin harjoitella. Se on kyllä vaikea ja aikaa vievä tekniikka, mutta pidän pehmeästä lopputuloksesta - jos sen saa siis onnistumaan!

Tälle maalaukselle olen tehnyt yksinkertaisen taustan musteilla leimoilla ja mallinteella.

 Toivotan kaikille ihanaa viikonloppua ja hyvää alkanutta maaliskuuta.

Scent of Memories

I painted this 6x8 inc. portrait with acrylics and water soluble wax pastels. This was the first time I used them with water.  I liked the technique. As I couldn't decide what to paint above the girl - it looked so empty, I took my letter stamps and made the word with them.

'Muistojen tuoksu'

Maalasin tämän 10x15 cm muotokuvan akryylimaaleilla ja vesiliukoisilla vahapastelliliiduilla. Ensi kerran käytin niitä veden kanssa. Kun en osannut päättää, mitä maalaan tytön yläpuolelle - näytti niin tyhjältä, niin otin kirjainleimasimet ja tein sanan 'Muistoja'.

Poppy Girl

Last week my painted girl was looking like a bird, this week the girl looks like a poppy - or is she a poppy fairy. I don't know if they even exist, but we can imagine that in fairy tales there they are, cant we ;)

I made the mixed-media background using a piece of a napkin. I glued it on a text paper page and stenciled with blue acrylic paint.

The girl I painted by dry technique with acrylics and finished her with oil pastels. I scanned the page and added digitally a couple of butterflies and the frame, and edited the quote on it.

Viime viikolla maalaamani tyttö muistutti lintua, tällä viikola tyttö näyttää unikolta tai 'unikkokeijulta', en tiedä onko niitä olemassakaan, mutta voidaanhan kuvitella, että saduissa on, vai mitä ;)

Tein taustan liimaamalla tekstisivulle palan servettiä ja sabluunalla lisäsin sinistä väriä. Tytön maalasin kuivatekniikalla akryylimaaleilla ja viimeistelin öljypastelliliiduilla. Skannasin työn ja lisäsin siihen digitaalisesti perhoset, kehyksen ja editoin tekstin.

Turquoise and Red

For the Three Muses Challenge color theme 'Turquoise and Red'.

I've painted the girl with oil pastels on a white card stock and now cropped it out. I gave her hair a light digital boost now. The fun insect was digitally colored by me.

All other elements on this mixed-media piece are freebie material, except the frame which is from Holliewood Studios.

I inspired to make also this collage, which I composed with freebie material I found from my files. I colored digitally the background, zebra and bunny.

Nämä työt tein väriteemaan 'Turkoosi ja punainen'.

Olen maalannut oil pastel-kynillä tytön ja nyt irrotin valkoisesta taustastaan tähän sekatekniikalla tekemääni työhön. Annoin tytön hiuksille nyt kevyen digitaalisen tasoitteen. Hassun hyönteisen väritin digitaalisesti, muu kuva-aineisto on ilmaismateriaalia paitsi kehys, joka on Holliewood Studioiden.

Innostuin tekemään lisäksi kollaasin löytämistäni ilmaismateriaaleista. Väritin digitaalisesti taustan, pupun ja seebran.

Gemini/Kaksonen

I made this 6x8 inch painting with watercolor and used for details a black graphic pen. It is my interpretation of  the Gemini theme, one  of three zodiac signs, which are this month's themes in the Mix it Monthly Challenge blog. Our hostes Conny asks us also incorporate the color Magenta in our works. Just visit the blog and take a look.
