My hybrid art journal work created with my earlier hand painted 'Woman and bird' colored pencil work beneath. Now I set it on the new digital background the

material of which was chosen from my archive, layering and overlays made digitally in Photoshop.

I created the page using my earlier watercolor painting 'Girl and roots' beneath, and for it in Photoshop now made digital background. The image material for it was chosen from my archive. I finalized the work typingn the texts.

I made the hybrid art work using my hand with acrylic on a crumbled paper painted girl face, which I  added on my digitally made background that I effected and filtered in my photoshop program. I finished my work with some effects and filters, added some digital images and elements, and the Victor Hugo's quote.

 I feel same way.

The follow up/Seuranta

 

I've painted the background with acrylics by the follow up technique from the Vincent van Gogh's painting 1889, and added now digitally my hand painted girl portrait on it. I chose these two because the colors and technics match well.

Ylinnä on hybridi art journal-työni teemaan: 'Tee oma tausta'. 

Siinä digitaalisesti yhdistin kaksi käsin maalaamaani työtä: Vincent van Goghin maalauksesta n.k.seurantatekniikalla maalatun maiseman ja  muotokuvamaalaukseni; molemmat akryyleillä. Valitsin yhdistää nämä kaksi, koska värit ja tekniikka sopivat yhteen. Tytön olen maalannut rypistetylle paperipussille. Yhdistämällä nämä kaksi työtä varustettuna kirjoittamallani selventävällä tekstillä syntyi art journal.

The Native American and the buffalo

I've handmade this painting in 2017 for the theme 'Native American', teared a special paper, can't remember it's name, to pieces and painted them with acrylics. The bison was drawn and painted by me, too..

Now I added digitally the freebie photo of the Indian face on the earlier made background.

My hybrid work, which I created and layered in my photoshop program using my earlier hand with wet colored pencils painted girl face (beneath). Now I sett it on my new digitally made background. I chose for the background images from my archive, and typed the Thomas Eisner's quote on the background, which I made for the keychain image.

Girl and Iris

There is some spring in the air here, so I post this my hand acryl painting 'Girl and Iris' on the Friday Face Off at Nicole's DV Artist this week.

Iris doesn't bloom in spring time, but I think its color is like blue anemone's and it's blooming in spring.

Magic of Autumn leaf 'Life is a Gift'

My hybrid art journal page for the theme 'Autumn colors and Inspiration' by Alison at Art Journal Journey this month.

I used my above hand painted acryl portrait as one of the elements in my hybrid work. The 'magic' leaf on the page is picked up from nature by me, dried and scanned. Other elements and the background are from my files. I've effected the work with several digital filters, and finished it typing the text.

Käytin työssä akryylimaalaustani sekä syksynlehteä, jonka olen poiminut luonnosta, kuivannut ja skannannut. Tausta ja muu materiaali on arkistostani. Lisäsin useita digitaalisia efektejä ja filttereitä ja viimeistelin kirjoittamalla tekstin tekemälleni taustalle.

Windmills of Your Mind

"Like a clock whose hands are sweeping

Past the minutes of its face

Above you see my digitally made work for the song 'Windmills of Your Mind', which became a world wide success in 1967. 

I altered the windmill photo with effects and added the old Italian painting 'Zingarella', c. 1504 on it, and typed the texts.

We know that wind mills to day look totally different, and are producing electricity wind power us with modern technology. But it's nice to go back to the past with artistic way 🎭

So, in addition I made another version, which you see beneath for the the same song. I used my digitally made background for the photo of the windmill, and made the texture on it, used my earlier painted portrait, and typed the first verse of the lyrics of the 'Windmills of Your Mind'. Its English lyrics are written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman. 

                 

   "Round like a circle in the spiral, like a wheel within a wheel never endin' or beginning on a ever spinning reel. 

Like a snowball down a mountain or carnival balloon. 

Like a carousel that's turnin'; runnin' rings around the moon."

 Kaikki tiedämme, että tuulimyllyt ovat aivan toisen näköisiä nyt, kun sähköenergiaa tuotetaan modernin teknologian keinoin. Menneeseen on kuitenkin houkuttelevaa palata nostalgian merkeissä. Niinpä tein kaksi erilaista versiota tuulimyllyn ja siihen perustuvan laulun sanoituksen inspiroimana 🎭 

Ylinnä on digitekniikalla tekemäni tuulimyllytyö Dusty Springfield'in 

laulamaan ja maailman laajuisesti tunnetuksi tekemää, suositun laulun sanoitukseen, joka suomeksi käännettiin nimellä 'Samanlainen onni' - Jarkko ja Laura 1968.  Alla sanat eräästä sen säkeistä:

"Kuin kello jonka kädet pyyhkii

yli minuuttien sen kasvoilla

Ja maailma on kuin omena

Pyörien hiljaa avaruudessa

Kuin ympyrät jotka löydät

Mielesi tuulimyllyssä."

Tein toisen version samaan lauluun, jossa käytin aiemmin maalaamaani muotokuvaa "Tuulitukka" ja tuulimyllyn kuvalle tekemääni taustaa, mihin tein tekstuurin, ja kirjoitin laulun ensimmäisen säkeen tekstin:

"Pyöreä kuin ympyrä, kuin pyörä pyörässä.  

Ei koskaan loppua, ei koskaan loppua pyörivällä kelalla.

 Kuin lumipallo alas vuorelta tai karnevaali-ilmapallo.

Kuten karuselli, joka pyörii, juoksee kuun ympäri".

On Card boar/Pahvilla 5

'Kierrätystä/Recycling'

Tässä hybridi-kollaasi, jossa olen valkoisella gessolla käsitellyt pohjana käyttämääni aaltopahvin palaa. Sille keräilin säästämiäni tekstiilipalasia, jotka olen leikannut afrikkalaisesta käsityönä tehdystä sohvatyynyn päällisestä (oli kulunut käyttökelvottomaksi), sekä valkoisen pitsipalasen. Irrotin käsin oil pastelleilla ja akryyleillä maalaamani tytön pään alkuperäisestä työstä, lisäsin pohjalle luonnosta poimimiani ja kuivattamiani syksynlehtiä sekä 'recycling/kierrätys'-sanan. Itse pidän tällaisesta erilaisten materiaalien yhdistelystä: rouhea aaltopahvi yhdistettynä vanhaan pitsiin ja käsin tehtyyn tekstiiliin. Aurinkoista viikonloppua 💚.

Above you see my hybrid page made on a piece of corrugated cardboard, which I've partly covered with gesso. I combined the collage page with the pieces of the recycling textile materia cut out of my old African pillow cover, and added some white lace. Then I cropped my with oil pastels and acryl hand painted girl face. I finished the work adding couple of old autumn leaves that were picked up from nature and dried by me.

Pahvi3/Cardboard

Ylinnä kaksi 'Junk Journal'-kirjasta kuvattuna kannet aukeamana, sivukoko 

9x19 cm, aukeamia molemmissa kirjasissa on 12. Kuten näkyy kannet olen tehnyt aaltopahvista, vanhentanut ja maalannut kullanvärisellä akryylimaalilla. Kaikki kirjassa olevat kuvat ovat vanhaa skräppi-materiaalia tai omia maalauksia. En esittele niitä tässä yhteydessä.

Alinna kuvasin 14x12 cm sivukokoisen kirjasen kannet Noita kirjasia on yhteensä 8 kpl; innostuin tekemään niitä, kun halusin päästä eroon "käsillä tekemisen vaiheeni" ajalta laatikoihin jääneestä silpusta. On niitä kyllä vieläkin muutaman kirjasen tarpeiksi.

Pahvilaatikolle/On cardboard box

Frida: "Maalaan omaa todellisuuttani", "I paint my own reality".

Frida rakasti kukkia ja luontoa eläimineen.

Frida loved flowers and nature with animals.

 Olen tehnyt nämä leikemateriaalista kenkälaatikon kannelle jo vuonna 2014.  Taisi olla jo digikamerat, mutta ei puhelimessa.

I've made this with scraps on a cardboard box cover in 2014, and used also golden pen and acrylics. 

Kun tein äskettäin digitekniikalla  'Runo'-haasteeseen Frida Kahlo-aiheisen työn, muistin tämän vanhan Frida-projektin, ja ajattelin julkaista sen 'Pahville'-teeman yhteydessä Teemakuun Kollaasit/Toukokuu-24. 

Olen  nähnyt suuren vaivan repiessäni noita paperiliuskoja ym. koristeita tätä tehdessäni, joten otin vapauden näyttää Fridan uudestaan blogissani tässä muodossa. Olen näköjään käyttänyt kultakynää ja akryylimaaliakin. Tämä kansi on vielä tallella ja olen tehnyt aiheesta toisenkin. Tässä ovat kuitenkin alkuperäiset valokuvat työstä.

Lumpeenkukka-neito/Waterlily maiden

 Värikynätyö 14x20 cm. Vielä eivät jäät ole lähteet, mutta vappuun mennessä niin on yleensä täällä etelärannikolla tapahtunut. Kesän ensimmäiset veneilyretket tehtiin aikoinaan yleensä silloin  ⛵🚤

Sitten ei mene kauaa, kun meillä lammet ja järvet saavat lumpeet koristeekseen ja jatkavat kukintaansa iloksemme koko kesän.

My colored pencil painting of 5x7,5 inches.

Our waters are still covered by ice, but until May the first it normally leaves here on the southern coast, and the winter storage of bouts ends, and the bouting time  starts ⛵🚤

Then beautiful waterlilies cover soon ponds and lakes, and we can enjoy the beauty of them. Also my waterlily maiden of the painting can enjoy the spring and summer with little birds and us.

Portrait inspiration

'Woman in a black hat.'

 Acryl painting, size A5, mixed media paper

I painted this portrait following partly the painting style of Kees van Dongen, a Dutch-French fauvist painter and print maker (1877-1968). He is known for his stylized and sensual portraits of women, and I tried to get something of it into my painting. Strong colors also are typical of the style of fauvism, the art movement, which emerged in France at the beginning of the 20th century.

 The leader of the movement was the French painter Henri Matisse (1869-1954).

'Mustahattuinen nainen'

Tämän muotokuvan maalaamisessa käytin mallina osin Kees van Dongen'in tyyliä. Tämä hollantilais-ranskalainen taiteilija (1877-1968) edustaa fauvismia. Se on ranskalainen ekspressionistinen maalaustaiteen tyylisuunta, jota on nimitetty myös dekoratiiviseksi ekspressionismiksi. Kees van Dongen'in naismuotokuville  tyypillistä on sensuellius ja vahvat värit. Niitä tavoittelin myös omassa työssäni.

Fauvismi-taidesuuntauksenen johtava vaikuttaja 1900-luvun alussa oli taidemaalari Henri Matisse (1869-1954).
