Uusi Junk/Art journal kirjanen 'Parhaat hetket'

Kirjan koko on sama kuin edellisen 10x19 cm, ja siinä käytän vanhoja silppuja sekä joitain vanhoja ATC-korttejani. Näytän tässä kannet ja ensimmäisen sivuaukeaman. Lisää sivuja on tulossa. Teen kirjaa käsin ja käytän myös leimausta ja inkkejä.

Every cloud has a silver line

Planning of these art journal pages started when I saw a picture of fun smiling faces of teacups. I couldn't imagine that inspired by them I created even a spread. 

You often ship tea or coffee when you are reading a book. That theme lead me to collect several different images and background materials from my files, and I digitally made the layout of the pages. So there on the pages are now also human faces, and I am likin my double page spread on Erika's theme 'Let's face it' at Art Journal Journey .

Tämän art journal-työni suunnittelu alkoi siitä, kun näin kuvan hymyilevistä teekupeista. En kuitenkaan arvannut, että tekisin niiden inspiroimana jopa kaksi sivua. Usein siemailemme teetä tai kahvia lukiessamme kirjaa. Tämä johdatti minut kirjojen piiriin ja oli helppo keräillä aiheeseen liittyviä kuvia ja taustamateriaalia arkistostani, ja suunnitelma laajeni digitaalisesti tehdyksi aukeamaksi. Koska sivuilla on nyt useampiakin kasvoja, linkitän työni teemaan 'Kasvot'.

Here are the rest of the pages of my Junk/Art Journal Book. 

Pages 6 and 7

Now I've given to every spread a theme. And it is 'Fashion' in this spread. The text stream says 'Inhale Fashion, Exhale Style.' And when it's turned left, there is a text 'Fashion is part of the daily air, and it changes all the time.' On the left hand page you see my old Skinny-card, and on the pages you see both Vintage and nowadays fashion.

Pages 8 and 9

The theme of these pages is 'Vintage People'. There is a smaller page, and when it's turned left you see another face. They are my old ATC-cards. All of them in this book are from the years 2011-2012. The cards 'Cherish' and 'Ne t'aime' I've colored with Distress Inks.

My theme for these pages is 'Dance and Love'. There are my three ATCs.

Pages 12 and 13

The last spread  includes two pages which theme is 'Work'. And I've worked, too. Sewing with a sewing machine is my less liked work, but I've done it on the left hand page's pocket 😏 which is my Skinny-card. There on the page are textile pieces, which I added now from my old cushion, which is not made by me!

Tässä tulee loput Junk Journaliin tekemäni aukeamat. Olen nyt antanut kullekin aukeamalle teemat, jotka ovat 'Muoti', 'Vintage ihmiset', Tanssi ja rakkaus' sekä viimeisenä 'Työ'.

Sivuillani on ATC-kortteja vuosilta 2011-2012, sekä kaksi Skinny-korttia. Joitain korteista (s.8-9) olen väritellyt Distress Inkillä ja tuossa viimeisessä ihmettelen, että olen jopa ommellut koneella, vaikka se on inhoamaani käsityötä 😏,

sivulla on myös vanhasta sohvatyynystä palasi, ja ne lisäsin nyt. Tyynyä en todellakaan ole tehnyt itse!

Kiva, jos kirjaseni kiinnosti. Mukavaa päivän jatkoa 💗

Now you see more pages to my hand made Junk/Art Journal Book, which size is 7,5 x 4 inch. Here the pages 2. and 3. make a spread, but because I included the smaller extra page (it's  my old Skinny card size 3x5 inch) it, you see the page two times, that you can see both sides of the small page. I think that makes the whole page different. I did the same way with 4. and 5. pages. Now you see both sides of the small scraps.

I didn't use some uniform color scale on the book, but tried to choose for every spread including smaller size pages colors that fit all of them. It was a quite tricky in some cases with so many scraps, but I enjoyed doing this funny book.

 I wonder how well my 6-10 year old Distress Inks have been retained. I colored, made textures and stamped with them. More pages are coming...

I noticed that I have very many faces in the book, so I link it at the Art Journal Journey Erika's theme 'Let's face it'.

Näet nyt sivut 2. ja 3., jotka muodostavat aukeaman. Koska sisällytin niihin pienemmän kokoisen sivun, näytän sen kahdesti, että näet pikku sivun (vanha skinny kortti) molemmat puolet. Saman tein myös sivujen 4. ja 5. pikku 'sivujen' kanssa.  En pyri kirjasessani käyttämään tiettyä yhtenäistä väriskaalaa, koska se olisi mahdotonta näiden silppujen kanssa, mutta pyrin kuitenkin aukeamat tekemään niin, ettei niistä väritykseltään tule aivan sekavia. Sekin on vaikeaa, mutta silppujen kanssa on toimittava näin. Ihmettelen sitä, että 6-10 vuotta vanhat Distress Ink'it ovat säilyneet hyvin ja käytin niitä pohjiin ja viimeistelyyn. Leimailukin sujui vanhoin leimoin.

In side of the cove and the first page of the book (spread)

I got an inspiration to start this project from Debra of the Feather Garden blog.

She has her own lovely style, and she has started her new Art Journal book project.

I am so glad that I have a reason to get rid of my old scraps from my ATC making time.

I have plenty of them still after this project, and I'm willing to continue book making.

The size of this book is 7,5 x 4 inch. I have still old ATCs, which are not swapped, as well as skinny cards, and I used them in some pages of the book. On the front and back covers there are ATCs. The card of the front cover is from the year 2014, and back cover's card from 2011, the first year I started my blog and making art. I had named it  the 'Mutual path'. The pictures on the first and second pages I have made totally now with different images, stamping and writing as you see 'Frida loved flowers, birds and apes'.

I'll post the following pages as they are ready.

Because in my book there are several faces, I'm linking my small book at Art Journal Journey Challenge for Erika's theme 'Let's face it'.

'Junk/Art Journal-book projekti'

Innostuin tästä erään blogi-ystävän ansiosta. Olen iloinen, että vihdoin pääsen ATC ja skinny-korttien tekoajalta jääneistä silpuista luovalla tavalla. En ole tohtinut ihan roskiin heittää. Kirjasen koko on 10x19 cm. Minulla on tallella kortteja sekä ATC- että skinny-koossa, ja olen käyttänyt niitä kirjassani joillakin sivuilla. Etusivulla oleva ATC on vuodelta 2014, ja takakannen kortti vuodelta 2011, jolloin latasin blogin ja aloin julkaista kortteja. Kortin olen nimennyt 'Yhteinen polku'. Etukannen taustan ja sivun 1 olen tehnyt kokonaan nyt silpuista. Olen vähän leimaillut ja kirjoittanut 'Frida rakasti kukkia, lintuja ja apinoita'.

Julkaisen loput sivut, kun olen saanut ne valmiiksi. Tämän postauksen linkitän teemaan 'Kasvot' niitähän löytyy kirjastani runsaasti.

Dominate the game

 'Be a Lion and dominate the game'' 

'In with the New' is the first 2022 theme at Try it on Tuesday Challenge blog.

I seldom create art with an animal, and now give the head role to the King of them, a lion. You see there the horoscope signs and Leo with others of them.

'Ole leijona ja hallitse peliä'

Haasteteemaan 'Uusi' tein työn, jonka pääosassa on leijona. Käytän eläintä harvoin näin isossa osassa töissäni, joten tämä on uutta minulle.

Leijonaa kutsutaan eläinten kuninkaaksi, joten se sai nyt pääroolin. Uuden vuoden alkaessa ennustaminen ja horoskoopit ovat ajankohtaisia. Näet työssäni muutkin horoskooppimerkit.

Toivotan hyvää vuodenjatkoa kaikille.

Hibiscus and girl looking on the bright side

'No one ever went blind looking on the bright side.'

I painted the yellow Hibiscus and the girl with acrylics . The hibiscus turned out in a gigan size compared to the girl. I made this feel again... it's becoming my 'trade mark' 😏 Let's imagine that it's a magical one.

Then I got an idea to make an art journal page and use my painting as one element. So I cropped her out and sank into the abstract background, which I created digitally. I finished my mixed media page making the background for the text which I typed on it with my photoshop tools.

'Kukaan ei ole koskaan mennyt sokeaksi katsoessaan kirkasta puolta.'

Maalasin akryyleillä hibiskus-kukan ja tytön. Kukasta tuli taas suhteettoman suuri tyttöön nähden. Teen tämän virheen usein, joten siitä on tullut 'tavaramerkkini'😏 Kuvitellaan siis, että se olisi taikakukka.

Nyt sain idean käyttää sitä elementtinä art journal sivussani, jolle tein digitaalisesti abstraktin taustan. Irrotin tytön alkuperäisestä taustastaan ja asemoin sivulle. Tein mietelauseelle taustan ja kirjoitin sen kuvankäsittely-ohjelmassani.

Reason to be thankful

'Reason to be thankful'

 My art journal page at Art Journal Journey theme 'Let's face it', which is chosen and hosted by Erika from BioArtGal-blog. 

The world has been more or less lockdown for about two years. Some have get out from the years better, some worse. Luckily no one of my family or friends has caught the corona virus.

I feel that the best thing that helps me to feel better, is nature which is near by and I am able to enjoy it during these heavy times. I can see nature from my windows and I can exercise the Nordic walking near my home without using masks outside on the peaceful forest paths or on the beach. 

I am thankful for this.

On my digital layout there is a photo, which I took in spring 2020, when I first time that year saw the same swan couple, which usually comes back to their nestling place. I was glad they were well. I'm sorry that the photo is so small that you can hardly see them, but there they are, and I'm happy about it.

My selfie is taken last week and my 'Corona-hair' is still growing ... The girl looking from the window on my both layouts is my hand painted portrait. And the small flower pictures are take from my camera photos.

'Syy olla kiitollinen' -teemaan tein kaksi art journal-versiota osittain samoista materiaaleista.

Kun maailma on ollut enemmän tai vähemmän kiinni lähes kahden vuoden ajan, jotkut ovat selvinneet ajasta paremmin, toiset huonommin. Onneksi kukaan perheenjäsenistä tai tuttavista ei ole saanut koronaa.

Itselleni lähellä oleva luonto on auttanut paljon selviytymään näistä raskaista vuosista. Voin lähteä kävelylle metsään tai tehdä sauvakävelylenkkejä lähellä olevalla rantatiellä, missä on niin vähän muita samaan aikaan, ettei maskia ole tarvetta käyttää. Jo luonnon näkeminen kotoa ikkunoista tekee hyvää mielelle.

Työssäni näet pienen valokuvan, jonka olen keväällä 2020 ottanut kävelylläni rannassa. Tuttu joutsenpariskunta on palannut entiselle pesimispaikalleen. Se ilahdutti mieltä, että niillä oli kaikki kunnossa ja pesäpuuhat jatkuvat. Ikävä kyllä kuva on niin pieni, että niitä tuskin erottaa, mutta siellä ne uivat . Oma selfieni on otettu viime viikolla, ja 'koronatukka' kasvaa edelleen... Molemmissa töissäni ikkunasta ulos katsova tyttö on käsin akryyleillä maalaamani. Linkitän työni myös toiseen haasteteemaan 'Kasvot'.

Face to Face

'We are fulfilling ourselves.' 
I collaged the background using my hand made teabag papers and other pieces of papers and overlays. I made the face silhouettes cropping them from pictures, altering them silhouettes and adding white shadow effects on the both. I finished the page adding a metal pendant and typing the text with photoshop elements.

'Toteutamme toisiamme.'

Tein taustan kollaasitekniikalla käyttäen käsin teepusseista tekemiäni ja muita taustapalasia. Kasvosilhuetit tein rajaamalla kuvista ja muuttamalla silhueteiksi sekä lisäsin vaaleita tehosteita niihin. Viimeistelin työn lisäämällä riipuksen ja kirjoittamalla tekstin kuvankäsittelyssä. Digityöni menee teemaan 'Kasvot'.

To face the New Year is a time to say goodbye and a time to say hello.

I made this digital page for the challenge theme 'Salute 2022' at Three Muses and

Kun käännämme katseet kohti uutta vuotta, on aika jättää hyvästit ja sanoa tervetuloa.
